Ottawa Kent Cares

We care for our community.

How we support our community

Our vision at Ottawa Kent is to be the best insurance and risk management firm in West Michigan by making a positive impact on our society and the communities we live in.

As part of that pursuit, we have enabled our employees to demonstrate the care they have for their community though an initiative we call “Ottawa Kent Cares”.

This program originally started as “Paying It Forward”, however, in 2015 we changed the program name to better reflect our goals and intentions.  Our mission was to give back and support our local communities with hands on assistance.  To help accomplish this, we encourage our employees to volunteer in the community.  To help make this a reality, Ottawa Kent will pay each employee 2 days a year for volunteer work within our local communities.  Ottawa Kent Cares has enabled our employees to get involved with organizations such as Love Inc, Habitat for Humanity, local food drives, church events and much more.  We look for opportunities to connect our employees from all 4 offices with their local community.

Starting in 2018 Ottawa Kent employees also started to monetarily support charities with Donating for Denim.  On Friday, employees can wear jeans for the day if they make a small donation.  These monies are accumulated from all 4 offices and each quarter a charity is selected from one of local communities to receive this donation.

Ottawa Kent Cares also supports local charities by assisting in promoting special events like “Share the Warmth”, “Stuff the Bus”, and Food drives.

Through the Ottawa Kent Cares initiative, our hope is that both our employees and communities recognize the positive impact that we can have in the communities where we live.
