Congratulations to Vicki Stroven on her 30 year anniversary at Ottawa Kent.
Vicki tell us a little about yourself. “I entered the insurance arena right out of high school. I worked at an agency downtown Grand Rapids when there was nothing else happening downtown – of course that was over 30 years ago. I left that agency to work at Ottawa Kent in Jenison because commuting was much closer and easier than downtown parking! One of the best things about working at Ottawa Kent is the people I work with. From management, on down the line, most of the employees here have been with OKI for over 15 years and that says a lot about our company. I really do love my job and also LOVE my Fridays off…another perk for being here longer than the boss.
“One of the biggest obstacles of working in this business is the ever changing world of insurance. It is very important to keep up with continuing education so you are informed with new laws and changes. Clients look to you for your knowledge – even when it is something we deal with every day, it is foreign to most insureds. I find it rewarding to be able to help clients with their ‘insurance issues’ as most think insurance can be one of the hardest things to understand. Being in the business for nearly 40 years, you can still learn new things, which keeps this job from getting boring.”
Vicki currently assists our commercial lines clients and our Risk Managers with all aspects of service and support. Thank you Vicki for 30 years of service to Ottawa Kent. Employees like you are what help make Ottawa Kent a success.
